The 11th edition of the Souper gastronomique | Global Excel for the CHUS Foundation was held this evening in a monochromatic blues setting at the Centre de foires de Sherbrooke. The theme—which remained a surprise for the 500 or so guests until the doors opened—for this year: under the sea.

Thus, in a mystical and enchanting atmosphere, participants dined on a six-service meal with wine pairings by chefs Dominic Tremblay and Maryse Carrier of the Massawippi Group, while enjoying several breathtaking artistic and acrobatic performances. Under the honorary presidency of the Mayor of Sherbrooke, Évelyne Beaudin, the event hosted by Alain Dumas was a great success.
In addition to providing guests with an exceptional evening, the Global Excel Souper Gastronomique is also a fundraiser for the CHUS Foundation. This year's event, presented by Groupe Custeau, BMO Financial Group, PMML - Équipe Nick Raymond, Construction Dinamo and Sherweb, raised $527,778, which will be invested in the construction of a high-tech integrated operating room at Fleurimont Hospital. The purpose of this room is to ensure continuity of patient care by increasing the number of operations that can be performed each day.
As a result, the people of Sherbrooke will have faster access to the surgeries they need while remaining close to home, their loved ones, and support networks.
