Despite scarce appearances in recent weeks, the sun was out for the tournament today at the 24th edition of the Golf Tournament | Banque Nationale Gestion privée 1859! For twenty-five years, except in 2020, golfers from more than 100 companies from Eastern Township have come together to play the greens, but also raise funds that allow the CHUS Foundation pursue its mission. This year, a total of $1,455,358 was raised. An all-time record for this tournament!

Jean-Guy Roy, co-owner of Mercedes Benz de Sherbrooke, Charles Custeau, President of Groupe Custeau, Alain Lemaire, co-founder and Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cascades, Roger Héroux, Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, and Jean-François Bérubé, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the CHUS Foundation.
It was the auctions that enabled the Foundation to raise such a large sum and the surprise contribution of five generous donors who, with a donation of $50,000 each, increased the final result by $250,000. Repeatedly meeting or exceeding the event's objectives relies on the strength of the network, and everyone's contribution is essential. Golfers and guests at the event hosted by Alain Dumas were particularly generous by participating in the various contests on the course and by bidding at the auctions.
Among other things, the funds raised will enable the acquisition of high-tech medical equipment and support medical research projects to improve accessibility to health care and services and the quality of care provided at the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS.
On behalf of the CHUS Foundation and all the patients who will benefit, thank you to all the participants, collaborators, and partners of this edition!
