For its 22nd edition, the CHUS Foundation’s traditional Souper homards lobster dinner was held over two evenings: Saturday, May 14 for people eating at home and Tuesday, May 17 for people eating at the restaurant. The approximately 450 people who participated in either dinner allowed the Foundation to raise no less than $40 507.

Each year, the funds raised through this activity are donated to Fleurimont Hospital’s pediatrics department. Thus, over the years, the event has allowed for acquiring a broad range of equipment fully dedicated to the care of children hospitalized at the CHUS’s pediatric unit, and for financing projects improving the comfort and quality of life of young patients.
This new edition of the Soupers homards lobster dinners will be used to renovate the Fleurimont pediatric outpatient clinic to create a healing, soothing, and reassuring environment for children and their families.
“Having access to quiet and peaceful premises allows patients to be more willing to receive care and it reduces stress, which we know increases discomfort and even pain. The impact of having a pediatric patient who is in a better state of mind for consultation and treatment goes far beyond the child: It also relieves the parent who has to deal with their own emotions while being present to reassure and soothe their child,”
emphasized Martin Clermont, Executive Director of the CHUS Foundation.
The dinners, presented by leprohon and the result of a collaboration with the Resto-Bar Le Dauphin and Festin Royal, offered two options for their guests: all-you-can-eat lobster at the restaurant or a lobster-at-home dinner.
In 2020, following the pandemic lockdown, the option of eating in the comfort of one’s home was highly successful and is still in great demand despite the easing of health rules.
The lifting of the lockdown, to the delight of many, provided the opportunity to get together and eat in groups at the restaurant, and thus this year the evening was also held at the Resto-Bar Le Dauphin.
This year’s event was the first hybrid edition.
