This system has been customized to meet the identified needs of care teams at the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS. Quebecor’s contribution has been essential in completing this project, which is making a significant impact on the quality of care offered to patients in a hospital centre who require an ambulance transfer to another hospital for more specialized care.
“Quebecor is proud to be able to contribute to improving patient care specifically aiming to provide patients with the best chance of recovery. This is not simply a stretcher, it is a great innovation that saves valuable time for teams and ensures safer transportation for the patient. It provides reassurance to the people of Estrie and it is important for us to participate in making a difference in the community,”
explained President and CEO of Quebecor, Pierre Karl Péladeau.
This transportation system allows for faster and more efficient care at a hospitalized patient’s bedside, as the equipment is attached to the structure, reducing handling times and providing a more ergonomic environment for the staff accompanying the patient.
“Thank you to Quebecor, a donor that has eagerly supported the CHUS Foundation and believed in this project from the outset. Transporting weak patients involves certain risks, which is another reason to provide the best conditions possible and to ensure continuity in care quality during transportation,”
stated Jean-François Bérubé, Chair of the Board of Directors of the CHUS Foundation.
